I am Traci Mulkins, and I am ecstatic to be a part of the Scrap-n-Book design team! I am married to a great man and have three wonderful children who inspire me every day! We also have two dogs and a cage-full of rats to keep us busy! I have been an elementary school teacher since 2000 and have taught in the primary grades from Kindergarten through third grade.
I have always loved crafting, and in addition to scrapbooking I enjoy photography (because I have to have great pics to scrap!), and needlepoint. I have recently begun taking photos for my close friends and family and enjoy the challenge of capturing other people’s kiddos in photographs. I love taking hundreds of shots to get “just the right picture” that exemplifies someone’s child as they see them! All the needlepoint projects I do are designs on hand painted canvases from Needlepoint Plus, my aunt’s shop in Beaverton, Oregon.
I began scrapbooking six years ago shortly after my oldest son was born. Needless to say, it has become a major obsession! It is such a joy to have found a craft that fulfills me and creates a tangible way to keep our family’s memories alive and well. My style is all over the place, and one day I don’t think I am too crazy about a new trend I see, but then a week later I see a fantastic example of that new trend and suddenly I have to try it! Overall, I tend to gravitate towards very textured layouts with many different design elements used together. I rarely make a flat layout! My current favorite embellishments are EVERYTHING chipboard, ribbon and metal. I love to doodle and have been using my own doodles and handwriting increasingly when I create layouts and projects. My passion has always been making my own embellishments.
I am so pleased to be part of Scrap N' Book and I never would have been brave enough to do it had it not been for TC Dye! I have been blessed by having her son in my class in school this year and she has become a wonderful friend and inspiration! I would not have had the confidence to enter the competitions at the store without her encouragement and support!
